Ky’s 5 Tips to Staying Physically Active During Quarantine

If there is one thing that has been a challenge for many of us during this quarantine life, it’s finding ways to stay physically active! No worries though, here are my 5 tips to staying physically active while you’re safe at home!

1 – Online Exercise Class

We’re no longer living in the days of slow, dial-up modems. If you have full access to high-speed internet, you also have full access to high energy online exercise classes! Take advantage of your easy access to these classes. Many of them can easily be found on YouTube. Additionally, many physical instructors are doing Instagram Live and Facebook Live classes as well!

2 – Go For A Walk

Go for a walk around the yard, or around the block… heck, you can even just walk around your house for a little bit! Find any chance to just stand up and walk. For example, if you’re on the phone, stand up and walk while you’re on the phone, as opposed to sitting down. If you do decide to go outside for a walk, remember to maintain a 6-foot distance from other people who are doing the same. <3

3 – Stand Up

This one may seem easier said than done, but it’s worth it. Whenever you have the chance to stand up… DO IT. If you have the ability to stand up while you’re working, you should definitely do that. Stand up while you’re playing games, or reading, etc. Whatever you do, try to not sit down for more than 30 minutes at a time.

4 – Clean!

Cleaning your home or apartment is a great way to guarantee that you’ll stay physically active. Cleaning actually involves a wide variety of muscles and you end up exercising without even realizing it sometimes.

5 – Dance!

Turn on that rockin’ Spotify station and ROCK OUT! C’mon… there is nothing better than just dancing like no one is watching! You’re at home… so dance away! My roommate and I have dancing sessions every single day, and let me tell you, it’s one of the best workouts we get on a daily basis.
