1 – Breathing Exercises

Doing deep breathing exercises is one of the best ways to relieve daily stress. When you take a moment to breath deeply, you’re sending a message to your brain and the rest of your body saying, “Hey… chill out. Relax. It’s okay.” When we’re stressed, our heart rate increases, we breath fast, our blood pressure increases… none of which is good. Take a moment just… BREATH.

2 – Be Present in the Moment

It’s quite impossible to live in a constant state of bliss… trust me, I’ve tried. But I’ve learned that whenever I’m feeling disconnected from my reality, or my job, or my family/friends, I simply stop what I’m doing and tune into everything that is happening around me. I begin to notice a big change into how I perceive things, and other people will notice it as well.

3 – Reach Out for Help

Your friends and family know you better than anyone else. So if you’re ever feeling the pressure, reach out to them with whatever you need. I prefer talking to people face-to-face when I need them the most. I use that time to share what’s bothering me and listen to them as they give a different, unique outlook on my situation.

4 – Laugh

To put it simply, laughing makes life enjoyable. There’s no use to being serious ALL THE TIME. We only get one chance on this rock, so we mind as well enjoy when we have the chance! Laughing is one of the best forms of self-therapy a person can experience, and an even better form of stress relief.

5 – Get Physical

Staying active is obviously important for your physical well-being, but it has incredible effects on your mental health as well, especially when it comes to stress. Physical activity such as exercise and sex, pumps up your endorphins, which in turn bumps up the production of those feel-good neurotransmitters… aka, physical exercise makes you feel a whole lot better.

Bonus – Be Grateful

Every night I write down 5 things that I am grateful for for that day. This is important because it helps me remember all of the things that are good in my life. As a result, the negative thoughts and worries and stressors in my brain are reduced significantly.

Hey, when you’re feeling stressed, take a few moments and `think about the tips in this article, I promise you’ll feel a lot better if you practice them daily!

Cheers,
Ky
