If you’re anything like me, there are times when life can seem a little… boring. It’s like we wake up and do the same thing day after day after day… and then go to sleep… and then wake up and do it all over again. While we get into this boring daily routine, we dream of a day when that routine could be filled with excitement and adventurous unpredictability
Social media certainly doesn’t help in this regard. No matter what social media platform you find yourself on, you are often hit with pictures and videos that show off the “perfect” life. This unattainable lifestyle that so many people try to attain. It’s exhausting, isn’t it?
What if I were to tell you that you CAN make your life a little less boring? What if I were to tell you that it’s actually quite easy? Here are 3 simple ways you can add some much needed spice to your life!
#1 – Enjoy The Nothing
You didn’t read that wrong. Enjoy the nothing. What if I were to challenge you to start welcoming nothingness into your life? What if you literally sat and did nothing for 10 minutes? No phone. No tv. No sounds. Just you and your thoughts.
I know… that sounds scary. But when used correctly, it can be incredibly beneficial.
When you sit in silence and welcome the nothing, you’re encouraging yourself think internally. This could bring a much needed calm into your life. If you’re a creative person, this could bring some new artistic ideas your way. Whatever it may be, this silence, this nothingness, can put you at more of advantage than you realize.
#2 – Explore What You’re Good At
A lot of us will get by doing just enough. Aren’t you sick of that? Aren’t you tired of settling day-in and day-out?
What are you good at? What is something you can put some time into to make people look at you and be like, “Whoa… they are REALLY good at that.” Find what that thing is and put your energy into that.
This energy will excite you. You are doing something you love, and you’re becoming even better at it. How exciting of a notion is that?! Don’t undersell your talent and your ideas… it can help you each and every day.
#3 – Stop Thinking Your Life Is Boring!
Yes, you read that correctly. Sometimes the best way to make your life less boring is to simply stop thinking it’s boring in the first place.
Boredom is man-made ideology. If you think you’re bored… then you’ll be bored. You’re creating this mindset. The good news is that you can easily get yourself out of that mindset. Let go of the constant thoughts of boredom and replace that boredom with curiosity. Replace it with creative thinking. Replace it with pure gratitude for what life has handed you.
At The End of the Day…
Ending “boredom” in your life starts with YOU. Create your excitement. Find your energy and passion. None of this can be given to you. This is easier said than done, yes, but let me tell you, when you finally get those wheels turning, you’ll be “bored” no more.
