What does it mean to be alive, alone, and in love in the city that never sleeps? Outwardly charismatic, popular, and surrounded by friends, Robert, a confirmed bachelor, appears to be doing well for himself. However, on the night of his 35th birthday, Robert sits alone in his New York apartment deeply conflicted, emotionally detached, and unsure of what he wants from life and relationships. Robert confronts these feelings through a series of disconnected, yet emotionally revealing memories of time spent with romantic partners, and those “good and crazy people” – his married friends. This Stephen Sondheim and George Furth classic returns to the Ritz stage after 39 years. Featuring some of Sondheim’s most memorable music and characters, COMPANY is sure to tug at the heartstrings of our audiences.
