This Privacy Policy outlines how The Vibe With Ky (operated by Kyrus Keenan Westcott) collects, uses, shares, and protects user information across our website, digital store, podcast platforms, social media channels, and email communications. By interacting with The Vibe With Ky, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
The Short Version
Privacy policies are long. Here is ours in plain words, with the full details below:
- We collect only what you give us (like your email when you subscribe) plus standard site analytics.
- We use it to deliver what you asked for, run the store, and understand which content actually helps.
- Trusted tools (email, store, analytics, advertising) help us do that, and they only get what they need.
- We never sell your personal information.
- Anything you send us in a message or email stays private. We never publish your words without your written permission.
- Questions or requests? Email [email protected] and a human will handle it.
1. Information Collection
The Vibe With Ky collects information to provide, analyze, and improve our content and services. We collect information in two primary ways:
Information Provided Directly by You: When you interact with our platforms, we may ask you to provide certain personal information. This occurs when you subscribe to the newsletter, join the Subscriber Hub communities on Patreon or Facebook, purchase digital products (such as guidebooks or audiobooks), or contact us directly. The types of personal information collected may include:
- Name
- Email address
- Billing address
- Payment details (processed securely via third-party gateways)
- Free-text answers you choose to give in a sign-up form (for example, describing a task you find hard to start). We use these to understand what our audience struggles with and to shape future resources.
- Any other information you choose to provide in direct communications.
Automatically Collected Information: When you visit the website, we automatically collect certain data using cookies and tracking technologies. This includes technical information, some of which may be considered personal data in certain jurisdictions, such as:
- IP addresses
- Browser type and version
- Device identifiers and operating systems
- Pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring website addresses.
2. Use of Information
The information we collect is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Service Delivery: To provide requested products, services, podcast episodes, and newsletters.
- Transaction Processing: To process purchases securely and deliver digital downloads efficiently.
- Customer Support: To respond to your questions, comments, and customer service inquiries.
- Platform Improvement: To analyze website traffic, track user behavior, and improve our overall content, products, and user experience.
- Marketing and Communication: To send promotional emails, updates, and community news (you may opt out of these at any time).
- Compliance: To fulfill standard legal, tax, and accounting requirements.
The Vibe With Ky strongly respects your privacy and does not sell your personal data to third parties.
2.1 Your Stories and Messages
Vibers write to us about real life: diagnoses, struggles, wins, grief, and everything in between. That deserves its own promise, in plain words.
Anything you share with us in an email, direct message, or comment reply stays private. We never publish, quote, or share your words or your story without your explicit written permission, and your contact details never appear in any content, example, or public reply. Your story is yours; sharing it with us does not make it ours.
One note of care: The Vibe With Ky is not a healthcare provider, and messages sent to us are not a substitute for professional support.
2.2 Health and Mental Health Content
The Vibe With Ky publishes content about ADHD, anxiety, and mental health. We want to be precise about what that does and does not mean for your data.
We do not ask for, collect, or store information about your diagnoses or health conditions. We have no health questionnaires, no symptom trackers, and no condition fields anywhere in our sign-up forms or store.
What our analytics and advertising tools do receive is ordinary browsing data: which pages were visited, from what kind of device, and whether a visit led to a sign-up or purchase. Because our articles are about mental health, visiting one of them could in principle suggest an interest in those topics. We do not treat that as health information, we do not build audiences around diagnoses or conditions, and we do not knowingly send any sensitive category information to advertising platforms.
If you would prefer that advertising and analytics tools not receive your browsing data at all, the opt-out options in Section 4 apply, and disabling cookies in your browser prevents most of this collection entirely.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
To effectively operate our platform, process transactions, and manage our community, it is necessary to share data with trusted third-party providers. Each provider operates under its own strict privacy policy:
- WordPress.com (Automattic): Hosts this website (thevibewithky.com).
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit): Manages our email list and newsletter delivery.
- Podia: Hosts The ADHD Vibe Store (store.thevibewithky.com) and securely delivers our digital guidebooks and audiobooks.
- Patreon & Facebook: Host the Subscriber Hub communities.
- Stripe & PayPal: Securely process payments for digital store purchases. The Vibe With Ky never stores or has direct access to your full card numbers or banking credentials.
- Google Analytics (with Google Signals): Measures website traffic and content performance, and provides aggregated demographic and interest reporting for users signed into Google who allow ads personalization. Opt-out options are in Section 4.
- Meta Pixel & Meta Lead Ads: Help us measure how our content and ads perform, build advertising audiences (including showing our ads to people who have visited this site before), and collect sign-ups you choose to submit through forms on Facebook or Instagram. Opt-out options are in Section 4.
- Advertising audience lists: We sometimes provide our email list to Meta in a hashed, unreadable form so that advertising audiences can be built or, more often, so that people who already subscribe are excluded from seeing our ads. Hashing means the addresses are converted into a scrambled string before they leave our systems. We do this to avoid paying to advertise to people who have already joined us. You can opt out by emailing us with the subject line “Privacy Request.”
- ManyChat: Powers automated replies in Facebook Messenger and Instagram direct messages, and stores those conversations and contact details.
- Zapier: Securely moves data between the services above (for example, adding a new sign-up to our email list).
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies are small data files stored on your device to enhance website functionality, remember your preferences, and track analytics. We use first-party and third-party cookies to optimize your browsing experience. Users may disable cookies through their browser settings; however, doing so may impact the functionality of certain website features, including checkout processes in the digital store.
Advertising and analytics choices: We use Google Analytics with Google Signals enabled and the Meta Pixel, which support measurement and interest-based advertising, including showing our ads to people who have visited this site before. You can opt out of ads personalization at any time through Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), Meta ad preferences (facebook.com/adpreferences), and the industry-wide AdChoices tool (optout.aboutads.info).
Email tracking: Our emails include standard open and click tracking so we can understand which content is genuinely useful. Every promotional email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing always works.
5. Your Data Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you maintain control over your personal data and have the following rights:
- Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: You may request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
- Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You may request the deletion of your personal data, subject to certain legal and accounting exceptions.
- Right to Opt-Out: You may unsubscribe from email communications at any time using the “unsubscribe” link provided at the bottom of all promotional emails.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the email address provided in Section 10.
United States state privacy rights: We honor access, correction, and deletion requests from all US residents, regardless of which state you live in. We do not sell personal information. Where our advertising tools’ use of visitor data could be considered “sharing” for cross-context advertising under certain state laws, you can opt out using the tools listed in Section 4, or by emailing us with the subject line “Privacy Request.”
6. Data Retention and Security
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Industry-standard measures, including SSL encryption, are implemented to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of digital transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Vibe With Ky is intended for an adult audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under the required age, we will take immediate steps to delete that information from our records.
8. International Data Transfers
The Vibe With Ky operates primarily out of the United States. If you are accessing our website or services from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where our central databases and third-party service providers are located. By using our services, you consent to this transfer.
9. External Links
Our website, including the Mental Health Resources Hub, contains links to external organizations, clinical studies, and third-party resources. The Vibe With Ky is not responsible for the privacy practices, data collection methods, or content of these external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit.
10. Policy Updates
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in legal requirements, third-party integrations, or general business operations. Any modifications will be indicated by a revised “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes.
