By After hosting our first-ever Ritzy Awards celebration back in 2020, multitalented theatre artist Kyrus Keenan Westcott (@thevibewithky) returns to the role of “Emcee” for our years-in-the-making sequel, the 2nd Annual Ritzy Awards, a festive awards gala honoring our 2020 and 2021-2022 seasons.
A veteran on and off the stage here at The Ritz, Kyrus loves telling stories and sharing his life experiences with the world. An actor, model, writer, producer, visual artist, and motivational influencer, his past work at The Ritz includes directing THE WIZ in 2019 and performing in our productions of HAIRSPRAY (2011), THE WILD PARTY (2014), RAGTIME (2018), and IN THE HEIGHTS (2022). Kyrus is also set to direct THE COLOR PURPLE at The Ritz next February. We’re beyond grateful that he’s (somehow) managed to fit The Ritzy Awards into his very busy schedule!
Featuring performances from all of the nominated musicals and with cast reunions galore on the docket, our 2nd Annual Ritzy Awards ceremony takes place on Saturday, August 27th and promises to be tons of fun for the entire Ritz Theatre community, especially seeing that this is the first big jubilee we get to throw since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Serving primarily to celebrate one full year since our “Grand Reopening,” the night will see audience “favorites” crowned in myriad categories, from “Favorite Musical Production” to “Favorite Scenic Design.” Voting is open now and closes Sunday!
